Get Interviews With Celebrities: Who to Talk to

How can I get interviews with celebrities and who do I talk to? This is the question I always had when I first started out. No one in the music industry really wants to tell you this because we all cherish our secrets. Honestly, I don't care about secrets in the music business. I'd rather have you not go through the red tape that I went through to get interviews with celebrities. It's a matter of knowing who to talk to.

First you need to think of the celebrity as a salesman for a company because that's what they are. Consider this, when you meet a salesman working on commission, do you beg to buy his product? Of course not because the salesman wants to sell as many of his products as he can. The more sales- the more money. The same goes for a celebrity, they need more sales, more movies, more exposure, more contacts all equal more money. Now you simply need to communicate with that celebrity the fact that you can help them make more sales or get them more exposure.

How can I get interviews with celebrities if I don't know who to talk to? I'm glad you asked. Here's the solution.

Spend time looking at videos of the artist you want to get interviews with. Read the bottom line of the video identification. (Usually the last line under the artist's name) I'll use Money Records as a fictional company.

This is what you might see at the bottom of the screen: Money Records/UniversalRecords The record company will come first then the distributor of the music. Simply Google Money Records in this fictional case. Then on their website look for the words booking. Now just contact them. Remember you need to give them a real reason to do the interview. Do you have 5000 subscribers on You tube. Maybe 10,000 visitors per month on your website. A magazine with 30,000 readers. Whatever it is communicate this to them. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I also have to tell you that there are a lot of ways to get interviews with celebrities. This is just one easy way. Here's a list of who you need to talk to for different talents.

For actors and actresses contact SAG they will give you at least two agent's names per call just say the name of the celebrity you want book.
For musicians or rappers it's usually managers on their websites. Buy the album and look for small print telling you the management company or manager.
For comedians if they also act try SAG or network with booking agents.
To always get the best interviews in you city when celebrities come to town make contact with promoters. You can usually find their contacts on their event fliers.

This is your one stop shop for your favorite interviews with celebrities. Why read an interview when you can hear your favorite hip hop, Gospel or R&B artist interviews from their own words. It's more intimate and relevant. You can change what you print but you won't be able to change the exact words from audio recordings.

We occasionally have interviews with celebrities on video so you can watch your favorite stars. Come back each week to hear new interviews. We rotate new ones in once a week. Also we have motivational speakers and short films on Underground TV, just click on media.
